Pocono Township thanks its Board of Commissioners led by the initiative of Commissioner Brian Winot for Expanding Library Access for ResidentsPocono Township continues to prioritize access to educational resources for all residents as discussions remain ongoing with the Library Board regarding a long-term library presence within the Township. Recognizing how vital a library is to our community, Commissioner Winot has taken action to ensure that residents are not left without meaningful library access in the interim.

Through his efforts, Commissioner Winot has successfully negotiated a discounted partnership with Northampton Community College, allowing Pocono Township residents to obtain a library pass for just $8 per person a year.

Most importantly, Commissioner Winot has personally committed to covering the cost of the library pass for seniors, veterans, special needs individuals, and low-income families.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Board & Commissioner Winot for stepping up on behalf of the community and helping to bridge the gap while we work toward a permanent solution.

January 7, 2026
Pocono Township is currently accepting applications for the position of Vacancy Chair. In a First-Class Township, the Vacancy Chair serves an important statutory role. If a vacancy occurs on the Board of Commissioners and the remaining Commissioners are unable to reach a majority decision on a replacement, the Vacancy Chair is called upon to cast the deciding vote. This position helps ensure continuity of governance and prevents a stalemate that could delay Township operations. This position has an annual term, unpaid, and no prior governmental experience is required. The role is activated only when needed and does not involve regular meetings. Interviews will be held at the January 20th meeting at 6:00 p.m. Location: 205 Old Mill Road, Tannersville, PA 18372 Interested residents should submit a letter of interest and resume to [email protected] , no later than January 15th, 2026 This is a unique opportunity for a resident to play a critical role in maintaining stable and effective local government.
