Pocono Township is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Zoning Hearing Board. The Zoning Hearing Board plays an important role in local government by hearing and deciding requests for zoning variances, special exceptions, and appeals related to the Township’s Zoning Ordinance. Board members help ensure that land-use decisions are fair, transparent, and consistent with Township regulations while considering the needs of residents and property owners. This is a four-year term, unpaid, and no prior zoning or planning experience is required. Training and guidance are provided, making this a great opportunity for residents interested in civic service and community involvement. Interviews will be held at the January 20th Board of Commissioners meeting at 6:00 p.m. Location: 205 Old Mill Road, Tannersville, PA 18372 Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to [email protected] no later than 1-15-2026 Serving on the Zoning Hearing Board is a meaningful way to contribute to the future growth and character of Pocono Township.

Pocono Township thanks its Board of Commissioners led by the initiative of Commissioner Brian Winot for Expanding Library Access for ResidentsPocono Township continues to prioritize access to educational resources for all residents as discussions remain ongoing with the Library Board regarding a long-term library presence within the Township. Recognizing how vital a library is to our community, Commissioner Winot has taken action to ensure that residents are not left without meaningful library access in the interim. Through his efforts, Commissioner Winot has successfully negotiated a discounted partnership with Northampton Community College, allowing Pocono Township residents to obtain a library pass for just $8 per person a year. Most importantly, Commissioner Winot has personally committed to covering the cost of the library pass for seniors, veterans, special needs individuals, and low-income families. We extend our sincere thanks to the Board & Commissioner Winot for stepping up on behalf of the community and helping to bridge the gap while we work toward a permanent solution. To apply for your library pass, please click the link below to access the fillable form. Once completed, bring it to the Township front desk located at: Pocono Township Municipal Building 205 Old Mill Rd Tannersville, PA 18372
