Pocono Township Seeks Applicants for Zoning Hearing Board Vacancy

Courtney Quaresimo • January 6, 2026

Pocono Township is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Zoning Hearing Board.

The Zoning Hearing Board plays an important role in local government by hearing and deciding requests for zoning variances, special exceptions, and appeals related to the Township’s Zoning Ordinance. Board members help ensure that land-use decisions are fair, transparent, and consistent with Township regulations while considering the needs of residents and property owners.

This is a four-year term, unpaid, and no prior zoning or planning experience is required. Training and guidance are provided, making this a great opportunity for residents interested in civic service and community involvement.

Interviews will be held at the January 20th Board of Commissioners meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Location: 205 Old Mill Road, Tannersville, PA 18372

Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to [email protected] no later than 1-15-2026

Serving on the Zoning Hearing Board is a meaningful way to contribute to the future growth and character of Pocono Township.
