NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Pocono Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 14, 2021, beginning at 5:00 P.M. The purpose of the hearing is to consider additional evidence regarding the application of Sheetz, Inc. for two variances to construct six wall signs on a proposed commercial building and gasoline canopy and one sign plaza containing five signs. The Applicant seeks to present additional evidence to clarify the precise dimensions of the variances it seeks; specifically, a 134.90 sq. ft. variance from Section 470-108(B)(1) of the Zoning Ordinance, which limits the total surface area of all building wall signs to 50 sq. ft., and a 48 sq. ft. variance from Section 470-108(G)(2), which limits the maximum size of a plaza sign to 50 sq. ft. This hearing will supplement the record from the hearing conducted before the Board on December 15, 2020. The property that is the subject of the application is owned by Abraham and Trapasso Enterprises, LLC and leased by Sheetz, Inc. The property, located off Route 611 on Discovery Drive in Pocono Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, is identified as Tax Code Number 18.104.22.168 and PIN 12-6364-00-76-9007. It is currently vacant land and is located in the Commercial (C) zoning district.
