The Civil Service Commission is a six member body that has three regular members and three alternative members. As part of the First Class Township Code, Pocono Township is required to have a Civil Service Commission. The Commission has the following duties and responsibilities:

• Examine and interview all applicants for the Pocono Township Police Department and make hiring recommendations to the Board of Commissioners
• Propose changes to the department Standard Operating Procedures to the Board of Commissioners
• Make decisions on grievances brought to the Commission by the Police Union
