Pocono Township 2016 Real Estate Tax rates (with a police force):  16.10 mills.

Monroe County:                                   21.25 mills
Pocono Mountain School District:       139.29 mills
Eastern Monroe Public Library:           1.1 mill
Real Estate Transfer Tax:                    2%, of which the township receives .5%
Earned Income Tax:                            1%  (split evenly between township & school district)
EMS Tax:                                             $52.00

The current Pocono Township Tax Collector is Patricia Michael, whose office is located on Shine Hill Road. Office hours are Tuesdays from 2:00PM until 8:00PM and Wednesdays from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, with extended hours during the tax discount period. The telephone number is 570-629-1378.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the property owners whose mortgage company escrows moneys for taxes to immediately send the tax notices to their mortgage company, Attention: Tax Department.

Senior Citizens, if you qualify as low-income citizens, you may qualify for a Real Estate Tax Rebate from State Lottery Funds.
